About the Opportunity

Alex Fraser now has a fantastic opportunity for a Wheel Loader Operator to join our team in Archerfield, on a full-time basis. Typical hours are Monday to Friday 6:30am - 4:30pm, with optional weekend shifts available on a rotating roster.

As a Wheel Loader Operator, you will be primarily responsible for loading road material onto customer trucks in an efficient manner, cutting floors and performing general labouring work.

Wheel loaders operate in two different parts of our business:

  • As the Sales Loader Operator you will operate a modern Komatsu WA480 loading roadbase onto customer trucks using Loadrite scales. Experience on wheel loaders in a busy sales environment essential. You must have an LL ticket.
  • As the Face Loader Operator you will operate a Komatsu WA500 loading concrete, brick and rock into the quarry crusher for processing into roadbase products. You must have experience on large loaders in a fast paced environment – typically 40 cycles per hour.

About You

This is a fast-paced and high-volume environment. As such, it's critical you possess a minimum of 1-2 years experience as a Wheel and/or Sales Loader Operator, and be ready to hit the ground running.

You'll understand how to balance the expectations of the role, maintaining a safety-focus while operating with speed and a sense of urgency - quick and controlled is your aim!

You'll also bring with you a detailed understanding of the anatomy of machinery you'll be operating, in order to execute your work in the most efficient manner. This will ensure your ability to coordinate your own movements with that of the wheel loader and trucks.

Additionally, it's important you be able to remain calm under pressure and stay conscious of the customer-focused environment you'll be operating in day-to-day.
