Our Company
The Alex Fraser Group is engaged in construction and demolition materials recycling, and asphalt production and paving. We operate five manufacturing facilities in Melbourne, two in Brisbane and employ around 270 people. The role is based at head office in Derrimut.

About the Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to join the leadership team of Australia’s best independent asphalt business. You’ll work with two experienced plant Supervisors (one at Dandenong and one at Laverton North) to ensure production keeps up with the needs of our four paving crews and other customers. The Dandenong Astec plant is near new (commissioned in 2013) and a new Amman plant is under construction at Laverton North.
Must haves:
You must have significant production experience, ideally in asphalt but a background in concrete, quarrying, manufacturing or mining production could be suitable. Experience with commissioning new plant, in particular the development of isolation and safety processes is highly desirable.
You will also have exceptional mechanical aptitude and planning skills, and an interpersonal style that resonates with the Alex Fraser culture: practical, down-to-earth and quietly- confident.
Nice to haves:
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, recycled content or alternative fuels, SCADA, or Fixed Plant Maintenance is welcome.
